Dear phone provider…

My phone isn’t working.

My internet is working. So I went to your webpage, clicked on Home Phone, and noticed a live chat feature for help. Hurray!

Oh, I  cheered too soon. Apparently that isn’t tech support for home phone. I have to phone for that.

But I can’t phone you. My phone isn’t working. That’s why I need tech support.

I don’t have a cell phone. I have to go to the neighbours and hope that their phone is working. But sometimes a phone problem is going to affect a bunch of us. This is frustrating.

The lovely person on the live chat did say that you now offer live chat for internet tech support. I think maybe you should think that through a bit more. Because if my internet isn’t working, live chat isn’t any good for me. I probably need to phone for internet tech support.

But if my phone isn’t working … well, internet tech support would be lovely.

Just saying.

(The problem is fixed now. Mat went next door. They reset something remotely and are sending a tech to check the weak signal. The nice tech support guy phoned me to make sure it was working.)

Grrr I hate this. The last time we were having internet connection issues, I called tech support. After being on hold for -I’m not even kidding- 20 minutes, I got a recording saying they were “experiencing extremely high call volumes” and I should direct my inquiry to their online support. Uh, I can’t get online, that’s why I’m calling. Duh.
