I’ve been looking at the blue wall hanging from time to time all week and sort of mulling what I might do with the border.
I’ve been wondering about using free motion quilting in the border as a bit of a contrast to all the straight line quilting in the body of the piece. I think I might try bubbles/pebbles. I’ve found a bubble tutorial video and might try some practice pieces first.
It strikes me now that the whole piece suggests moonlight on a lake. Pebbles seem like they might fit that theme, too.
Yes! I think the pebble quilting will offset it nicely.
